Embrace Winter with These 9 Tips
Are you trying to find ways to make this winter feel warmer?
Here are nine tips to help you embrace winter this year.
1. Create a Cozy Space – Light some candles around your house for additional lighting and a homely scent. Choose seasonal scents for winter or choose tropical scents to remind you of the warmer months.
2. Add Warmth and Style – Get fluffy pillows and fuzzy throws to make your living space feel cozier.
3. Make a Playlist – Create a playlist that sets the mood of what you’re trying to portray. If you want relaxing music, add slower songs, but if you want energetic music, create an upbeat playlist.
4. Dive Into Baking – Baking solves all problems. Whether you’re baking a cake, pie, or cookies, any dessert will combat the weather outside. Baking with friends or family is even more enjoyable.
5. Invite Friends and Family Over – Do you tend to hibernate in the winter? Ask your friends and family to come over and enjoy a dinner, a movie, or just spending some quality time together.
6. Have Warm Food and Drinks Available – If you don’t want to cook everything, ask your guests to bring over a dish and have a potluck. Warm drinks are important when it’s cold outside, consider having apple cider and hot chocolate. Wanting an alcoholic beverage? Red wine, a hot toddy, or a baileys and coffee are great options.
7. Have Games Ready – Games can always bring people together. If you don’t have any card games or board games, ask your guests to bring some over. Also, the Internet or an app is a good resource for games if you don’t have any at hand.
8. Wear Comfortable Clothes – You’re in your home or a friends home, so you should be in your comfiest clothes. Grab your favorite sweater, sweats, and thick socks to make you feel at ease.
9.
Enjoy Seasonal Activities – Take advantage of
the warmer days of winter. Go ice skating, explore ice sculptures, or go to a
hockey game. Minnesota is, after all, the State of Hockey.
We hope these tips will help you embrace winter more this year. Some people are more prone to colder weather, but like most people, we love when it’s 30 degrees in the winter.
